As a body of Christ we often meet together for Communion. Communion is a time set aside to met with Jesus. It’s a time that is set aside to be with Jesus. Often we are busy. When Jesus came to Mary, and Martha’s house, Martha occupied herself with the business of life rather than sitting at the feet of Jesus as her sister Mary had chosen. Jesus tells us that Mary had chosen the better. As well as for ourselves, when we’re busy we can forget what we have in Jesus.
When we sit at the feet of Jesus we remember that He bled and died for us.
As we slow down and seek Jesus, we come back into fellowship with Him. Back in the Garden of Eden, we see that God the Father desired fellowship with Adam. While Jesus was here on earth He had fellowship with His heavenly Father. Relationship with God the Father was a very unique new realization at that time. In the days of Jesus, the spiritual teachings were that God was too massive or too mighty to be bothered. Everyday worship was shrunk down to man inspired rules and regulations. Through the life of Jesus we see clearly that rules and regulations were not and are not the primary concern needed in a personal relationship with God, nor are rules and regulations good for any relationship. 1 John 1:3 tells us that, our fellowship is with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We write these things to you that your joy may be full! Jesus goes on to proclaim in John 10:10 I have come to give life and life more abundantly. Fullness of joy, life more abundantly, those are the desires of Jesus for you and I. He only wants the best for us. His best is found when we commune with Him. Once we establish our fellowship with Him, we can then begin to establish fellowship with one another.
Acts 2:42 They continued steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine, and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Let us all take time out and commune with Jesus. God bless you.
