After hearing of the tragedy in Las Vegas, I remained numb for most of the day. Eventually I snapped out of it and began to respond. My first stop was at the Lord’s feet. After rendering myself to the Lord, I then became comforted by His presence. Shortly thereafter I realized I must now comfort others with the comfort that He has comforted me with, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. At my request, the ladies ministry invited me to open their meeting with prayer and support. (Thank you for the opportunity) Although I had been comforted by the Lord, my head was spinning with the question, “Why?” That question can go for miles and down numerous streets all leading to dead ends. Often the human heart finds a false comfort while taking that non ending journey. Many can and do become disillusioned creating all sorts of scenarios that seem impossible to exit from. Sad yes but true. Answer to Why?: I do not have, but comfort to others I desire to give freely. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13. Not by might nor power but by My Spirit says the Lord, Zechariah 4:6. In my weakness He is strong, 2 Corinthians 12:9-11. We as Christian soldiers must continue marching bringing comfort to the dying world that is right outside our doors. We must bring God’s saving message even in the midst of sure ridicule and mockery. We must always point the way to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life. He and only He has the ability to answer the Why? question. Men and women of Jesus Christ, let us first take a knee in reverence to our Savior. Then as we pray for the families and loved ones affected by this horrible event, we will ask for God to deliver His comfort. Finally let’s stand together offering the Gospel message of the Good News of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Stay strong Christian family. Stay strong in faith, and in fellowship. Stay strong and be ready, armed with comfort that He has comforted you with. Be ready and willing to share God’s comfort to the dying world that is all around us. Do these things in Jesus name!
