Wow what an amazing election season we’ve had so far. I think we can all agree that it will probably get even more brutal as time goes on. Perhaps the current display might have been semi comical if the political chaos wasn’t so personal. Our presidential nominees are putting on a full display indicating that there is little desire for community. (You can easily fill in the blanks and qualify my comment.) I think it would be safe to say that the majority of us will not be picking politics as a second career anytime soon. Although if you are considering the possibility, may the Lord be with you! That being said, I hope we all can take a moment and break from the daily barrage of tweets, Facebook commentaries, Instagram input, Snapchat fodder, Wiki Leak dumps, television opinions, radio show comments, and all the other electronic media outlets and desire to come and look out over our sea of humanity. After hearing from Black Lives Matter, White Lives Matter, Clown Lives Matter, we can quickly come to the conclusion we are a divided country. Division and confusion, with the exception of a few occasions, is not of the Lord. Instead John records in his Gospel, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Whoever believes in Him (Jesus, God the Son), will not perish but have everlasting life. Whoever believes in Jesus! The conclusion is obvious that God the Father welcomes everybody into what is known as the Body of Christ. The only thing that “Matters” to the Lord is that you come to Him in repentance, pick up your cross and follow Him. Once we simply accept and respond to the leading of the Lord, division and confusion begins to clear. Finally, I am reminded of a comment that proclaimed, “In the eyes of the Triune God, All Lives Matter.” Yes, relief at last! Come let’s join together as God the Holy Spirit bids you to do so. Then and only then can we truly say, “O happy day!”
